Fluoride

Fluoride is a natural mineral that strengthens the outer surface of your teeth. It also helps rebuild weakened tooth enamel and reverses early signs of tooth decay. Fluoride is especially helpful if you have a high risk of developing cavities. Cavities are caused by bacteria build up that erodes teeth and gum tissue. Most Oklahoma tap water contains fluoride, but a majority of bottled water doesn’t. This leads to an increase in fluoride deficiency in our patients. 

Treatment

During your cleaning, we will determine whether your teeth would benefit from a fluoride treatment. Professional fluoride treatment is a preventative treatment that helps naturally fight cavities and reduce tooth sensitivity. 

After your cleaning, we will apply a layer of fluoride to your teeth. After your fluoride treatment, you can eat and drink immediately after.
